2009 Jeep Patriot SUVs Trim

For 2009 the Jeep Patriot compact SUV gets a new instrument panel, door trim, center console and chrome trim on the interior, while sound deadening and exhaust tuning provide for a quieter ride. With a choice of front- or four-wheel drive, both the Sport and Limited trims come with a standard 2.4L four-cylinder engine capable of 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque, paired to a five-speed manual transmission, although a continuously variable transmission is optional. Jeep Patriot fuel economy estimates place it at 23 mpg city/25 mpg hwy for the 4X2 and 20 mpg city/22 mpg hwy for the 4WD. With room for five passengers the Patriot car-based SUV sports rear seats that fold down in a 60/40 split to increase rear storage up to 54.2 cubic feet. The AWD system can be enhanced with hill-descent control and an extra-low off-road gear is available on CVT trims, while the Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group package adds skid plates, front and rear tow hooks and a full-size spare tire. Standard safety equipment includes the Patriot's advanced multistage airbags and many other features.
